Lourdes Garcia

Associate

Lourdes joined Foster LLP as an associate in2020 with a background in family law. She enjoys advocating on behalf of her clients and identifying practical goals for them. Lourdes is a believer in engaging in dispute resolution outside the Court and understands the value of efficient and timely outcomes for her clients. She has appeared in matters before the Alberta Court of Justice, the Court of King’s Bench and the Alberta Court of Appeal.

While completing her undergraduate degree at the University of Calgary, Lourdes worked as a Judicial Clerk at the Court of Queen’s Bench (as it then was), where she learned civil and family law procedures. While completing her law degree, she was a semi-finalist in the 2016 law school’s annual client negotiation competition.

Outside of work, Lourdes enjoys volunteering with the Canada Revenue Agency to assist in the preparation and filing of income taxes for low-income individuals.

When not at the office, Lourdes enjoys a boxing class, spending time with her friends, family and dog Mia.

Lourdes is currently on the Executive of the Young Lawyers South Section of the Canadian Bar Association.

Lourdes is fluent in Spanish and is able to offer legal services in Spanish.
